Nick specialises in company and insolvency law.
Before joining Chambers, he was an associate in the corporate department at Slaughter and May in London. He also spent time in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Nick holds an LL.M from Cambridge, where he concentrated on corporate law, and has been a visiting lecturer in company law at King’s College London.
After finishing pupillage, Nick spent six months on secondment at a leading litigation firm and in the London office of a major offshore firm.
Highlights of Nick’s time at Slaughter and May included being part of teams advising Walmart on the sale of Asda to TDR and the Issa brothers, KKR on the sale of part of Viridor, Valaris plc on its financial restructuring, the Board of the Universities Superannuation Scheme in relation to a director’s conduct, and the directors of a listed resources company on their duties in relation to climate change.
During pupillage, Nick experienced both contentious and non-contentious work in Chambers’ core areas of practice. On secondment, he worked on a range of contentious domestic and offshore company and insolvency-related matters.
